On this tour we are going to the area of the island known for its various lagoons, Sete Cidades. First we are going to Pico do Carvão, where we have a phenomenal view of the south and north coast of the island simultaneously and the vast expanse of volcanic cones. We continue towards Lagoa das Empadas, where, while admiring its natural beauty, we learn about the importance that this lagoon had for to Ponta Delgada. Then we are going to the viewpoint of Grota do Inferno, considered by many the best of the island, where we observe four lagoons at the same time. We head to the emblematic viewpoint of Vista do Rei, where you will know the legend of the Lagoa das Sete Cidades. As we descend into the parish of Sete Cidades, we are delighted with the Santiago Lagoon. We will visit the parish of Mosteiros, where we have lunch.There is nothing better then a bath in the Ferraria to finish our tour, in the sea heated by the volcanic vapors. We’ll return to Ponta Delgada passing through several parishes on the south-west coast.
