On two wheels, by bike, is certainly one of the best ways to explore and get to know this paradise called São Miguel. If you’re used to pedaling this route is for you. We will travel 35km. Starting on the south coast, we cross the island to the north coast, always surrounded by an amazing panorama that nature offers us. There are several points of interest that we will get to know. Departing in front of the beach of Milícias in Livramento, we continue to the Pinhal da Paz, one of the most emblematic green spaces of the Azores and probably the original forest of wild pinetrees, of which few traces remain, however, the azalea was one of the ornamental species that made it better known. As we approach the north coast the view of the island is stunning and the Moro das Capelas, an ancient submarine volcano of basaltic nature, is not indifferent to anyone, such as the Poços de São Vicente, natural pools, result of volcanic activity. Further on, prepare to be perplexed by the Buraco de São Pedro which has a cavity with a diameter of 30 meters and height of 40 meters and is a place still not too famous. On the way back, we pass the Batalha Golf Course, one of the two courses on the island, which also has phenomenal views, where the green of the earth meets the blue of the ocean. It’s a day of pedaling a lot and watching even more! Join us on this adventure!
