We are going to explore Furnas, one of the most emblematic places of the island of São Miguel. Our day starts with a bike trail starting in furnas, going to the overview of Pico dos Milhos and then surrounding the lake of Furnas. There we can observe one of the active volcanoes of the island, appreciating its impressive lake and seeing the boiling waters where the local traditional stew is made. At the afternoon we will visit Furnas, which also known for one of the most impressive botanical gardens in Europe, comprising a huge variety of plants and trees, in addition to small ponds and streams. The main attraction of this incredible garden is a massive brownish geothermal water pool, where you can have a very relaxing and invigorating bath.
